Ende November sorgte ein auf Brickset veröffentlichter Artikel zum neuen LEGO 75313 UCS AT-AT für Aufsehen. In mehreren Beispielen wurde dort aufgezeigt, dass das neue LEGO Star Wars Flaggschiff offenbar unter einigen Konstruktionsfehlern leidet. Dabei ist weniger das Aufbauen des 6785 Teile großen Sets das Problem, sondern eher das Auseinandernehmen.
An mehreren Stellen sind nämlich Technic-Achsen so verbaut, dass sie nicht ohne weiteres wieder entfernt werden können. Das würde dem LEGO-Gedanken widersprechen, aus bereits bestehenden Bauwerken immer etwas neues bauen zu können. Auch wenn höchstwahrscheinlich die wenigsten Käufer des 800 Euro teuren Display-Sets den Walker wieder auseinander nehmen werden, um daraus beispielsweise ein Haus zu bauen.
Inzwischen hat LEGO aber auf die Kritik reagiert und ein Statement zur Problematik veröffentlicht. Seit gestern findet sich außerdem auf dem offiziellen LEGO YouTube-Kanal ein Tips&Tricks Video zum UCS AT-AT, worin der Designer Henrik Andersen zeigt, wie man das Set wieder in seine Einzelteile zerlegen kann. Kurzgesagt: Die Lösung aller Probleme lautet „Rütteln und Schütteln“.
LEGOs Statement zur UCS AT-AT Problematik
All LEGO sets are designed to be rebuildable, including the LEGO Star Wars AT-AT.
This set is a complex build intended for those aged 18+ and uses Technic pieces to secure elements of the set. Once assembled, these pieces can sometimes be more difficult to take apart, but it is still possible. In the case of the elements that attach the upper body to the lower part of the set, builders should tap to the side of the Technic rod until it starts to stick out and then remove it using the LEGO tool which is provided with the set. Alternatively, you can ease the model onto its side and the rods will come out.LEGO
Regarding the pieces used to construct the legs; once assembled the Technic rods can be removed by pushing the rod from one end and securing the end of it with your fingernail. Then push back the cross-axle extender and keep repeating this movement until enough of the end protrudes out to be able to remove it.
